Wien

Saturday 28th

It was nice to sleep in a proper bed, even though it was only 6 hours. We desided to stay in Wien for another night, so we left our backbags in the Hotel and left to find breakfast and a cheaper hotel or hostel.

We walked trough the biggest shoppingstreet of Wien called Marienstraße, but didn't go shopping even though I think Mika would have wanted to.(I was supposed to buy cheap clothes from Poland as I didn't take much with me...) For breakfast we went to eat in one small cafeteria that reminded me a bit of Agali, the kebab company in Finland. The food was weird, but quite tasty and I didn't have to eat any bread.

We found the AO Hostel that Mika has checked from the internet.

I had a chance to choose do we take a dubbelroom from the Hotel or do we sleep with four other quys in a Hostel. Well, first I was ready to take the hostel, but when Mika started to describe how the other members of the room would snore and stink the decission was made. (Actually I told her the good side of sleeping in a dorm room also. Its that you get to meet with other travellers and possibly spend a really nice time together. But that wasn't enough this time comparing to the amount of sleep in a snoring etc. enviroment)

One of the staffpersons was a pretty young man who told us many interesting places which weren't the typical tourist sightseeings but worth of seeing. But our "holiday in Wien" couldn't start yet as we had to track our backbags from the other side of town to the AO. And it was a long way atleast with tired feet, but there was an opportunity to take citybikes for a loan. Unfortunately I haven't got the creditcard, so first we had to find the tourist information and to get the bicyckle card from there.

Something about three o'clock we started to strolling around the city with our Wienna citybikes, some of them had even three gears. So luxury. But yeah, I have never been in such a big city and we were kind of lost. We tried to look a bit of the map, find the citybike stops where we could change to bikes (the point of the bikes they are free when you change the bike every one an hour) and see as much as possible to the beautiful Wienna in a one day.

I think that we saw a lot and even though we didn't stop in any church or visited in any museum, I liked the day. Mika seemed to be frustrated. Atleast when we finally got to the island. The Island had been suggested with some nice swimming places, some surfing and outdoor games. (Actually I was frustrated as I had biked the whole day without eating properly. When we got inside the island area that was 3,5€ per person I saw that there weren't any good food served. Well I ate a sad bread from a fastfood. It helped my mood a bit afterwards)

The activites were mostly closed as we came so late. Stand up padling dude was shutting down, flowpark workers just left when we came by. Well the water should still be open atleast.

What a luck that just as we got in, a storm started.

I was a bit sad and worried about ruining Mika's day so I cried. (We made up, and finally we got to the swimming part. And she didn't ruin my day I did because I should have forced us to eat before it was too late..)

Sadly after that we only had ten minutes to swim in Donau. The Lifeguards working thought it would be too dangerous to swim with the lightnings.

After I had shown my feelings and the rain had stopped, the day turned to evening and everything was allright again. Bicycling back to the center we stopped many times to just wondering or looking at something. There was example a big tower in construction, really nice architecture but I feel so sorry for the windowcleaners. (501 ikkunaa from Miljoonasade wont be enough)

And we found a trampolin! So fantastic.

I started to feel hungry, and Mika was also hungry again as the sad little bread only helped until now. We found a Greek restaurant next to the river, ate a big fish together and drinked a little home made white wine.

I got a bit waisted and was ready to go to the clubs, but Mika didn't want to. Or I'm sorry, he wanted to go when he saw a dancing girl on a table. For me he ofcourse said that "Hey there is a Corona bar, shall we go there?" and I answered that I don't like beer. But then I saw the girl also, I should have guessed that. Well, if doesn't like to watch me in my sneekers, go ahead and enjoy. :)

The best thing in Wien

Something amazing, the amusement park of Wien was still open even though it was almost a midnight. We saw only the Ferris wheel, but desided to go and see what other nice devices they had in there. Mika remembered having been in a somekind of ball which blows you up in the sky during his holiday in Israel. He told me it is the best machine and if we find it from there we will definately go.

And we found it. There was videos going on which were showing faces of the peoples who had been in that machine. My feet started to shake but at the same time I was explaining that it won't be so awfull that it looks like. Well, we went first to the toilet and then to the machine. I screemed a lot and Mika was yelling something and trying to get my hand of wrestling ? But it was AMAZING. After we got down I wanted to do it again, but unfortunately it cost 15 euros per each person, way too much to spend there the hole night.

We drove with our bikes back to the city center and found almost all the places we would have wanted to see in the daytime, by accident. There was example private parties in the museum, a huge screen for the ongoing Filmfestival and Dancefestival Impulse, where we stayd a bit longer to listen different DJs mixing the music.

I liked a lot of the buildings and houses in there as they made the atmosphere so different. When I saw one girl and boy walking together, I couldn't help wondering how could their dates even be bad in that city. But Mika gave an example about a date his cousin had been on "the boy was talking all the time something about his mom and video games".

We headed to the AO hotel to have a good night sleep. Well not a long one as we went around 4 am...
